Arthritus in both knees ,past hysterectomy at the age of 23 and past endometriosis.

I consider myself to be fortunate .

I hate to tell you this love but there is no cure for Endometriosis, a hysterectomy only slows it down, it can now start to grow on other organs around the body, glad your doing well

At the moment x

Hi ,of course ,I still get sharp pains in my stomach ,but to operate again would only cause further scare tissues.

We can all dwell on our aches and pains but there's people far far worse off .

I'm pleased to hear you're managing well and feeling positive. It is very important to try to stay positive but Endo affects people in many different ways. I can't say mine could be described as 'aches and pains'. I get debilitating, sickening, contractions with knifing pain and basically feels like my insides are being ripped out as I black out on the floor vomiting covered in sweat and when I come round the horrific pain returns immediately. Recurrent endometrioma cyst ruptures, organs stuck together with adhesions. Now unable to work as no matter what painkillers and anti-sickness meds I take I often collapse in the street blacking out in pain and vomiting. The only thing that has given me some temporary relief is hospital administered morphine and anti-sickness injections. Yes, there is always someone much worse off than you - I'm not dying like my friend who is terminally ill and there are many more people with Endo who have suffered so badly with it affecting their bowel, bladder, colon and other organs but those who are completely debilitated due to Endo need support and an outlet. Perhaps your post comes across differently to what you intended but if you're in severe, terrifying pain I think getting through the next few minutes comes before thinking positively. Thinking positively to me is for the days when I can leave my bed and/or my house. Those are the days I try to make the best of my life.

Glad you are feeling well. My aunt also had a hysterectomy (and oophorectomy) about 20 years ago and she has been endometriosis free ever since!

Just went in for my first lap today to remove some endo they had found. Hoping my new treatment will help prevent further growth x

Whilst I think it is important to try to have a positive mindset I think it's also important to bare in mind that endometriosis can effect people in different ways and you don't know what others are going through.

I'm very glad that you are in a happy place in your life despite the health issues that you have had. This advice may not be useful for some people if they are not in such a good place though. Given that endo can impact a person's mental health, work life, sex life and family life at times sufferers may feel overwhelmed and hopeless. To say that there are people worse off might seem to invalidate those feelings which isn't helpful.

Groups like this are so important because through educating ourselves in treatment options and providing support to each other hopefully we can improve the quality of our own lives and others.

I really didn't mean to upset any one in my comments ,my apologies if that's the way it came across .

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting what you posted. For some it may give them a light at the end of the tunnel. It is comforting to know others have gone through similar experiences and are still able to remain positive. 😊

Thankyou .

I really do feel for you ,being so young,I was late teens, however I'm now late 40's so maybe I'd boxed up emotions .

I've had the total hysterectomy and the menopause at under 25 ,life did change for me ,but I still keep positive .

Take care

Xx
