Positive Mirena insertion experience

I'm writing this post because I find that people only post about their negative mirena insertion experiences. I just had mine fitted today and I just wanted to say it was much better than I expected. I know every woman is different and has different experiences. I was so nervous before hand because I thought it would be agony based on what I had read. I had local anaesthetic injections in my cervix (which I didn't feel) so I don't know if it was that but the wort last past of the whole this was the speculum. I felt a slight cramp when she did the uterine sounding, and a second sharper cramp when the mirena was inserted. Absolutely nothing compared to my usual period cramps. And it was over so quickly. I heard scissors and thought 'she can't be cutting the threads already' but she was. Then the horrible speculum was out and I was done. The whole thing took about 2 minutes maybe. I have some slight cramping now but nothing a heated pad can't soothe. I'm so glad I went ahead and did it, and I just wish I'd known before how easy it would be.
