Think I'm reasonably prepared now, just need to go get sudocream and wetwipes ahead of my picolax experience!
Started to get anxiety dreams a couple of nights ago though I'm trying my best to distract myself and not to think about it.
I go in at 17.30. I wish the op was earlier in the day though. They leave the complicated ones to the end of the day in case they overrun I guess. It should be 2 and a half to 3 hours I was told and I'll be recovering in hospital 2 to 3 days they said.

Hi Suzie2b it's excision of an inch long nodule attaching my cervix to my bowel and distorting it anatomically. They will also remove adhesions and a bit of endo on my bladder. The main uncertainty is how deep the endo infiltrated the bowel wall membrane although a sigmoidscopy showed it's not gone all the way through yet which is good. Hoping for a small shave rather than disc or segment resection but none ruled out completely.
Ooooh bloody hell. I'm sure you will be fine. I know it's easier said than done but just try keep calm and relaxed. Bloody hate endometriosis and the fact there's not enough awareness out there about it. I'd never heard of it until I was diagnosed and then found out theres thousands with it.
Me either, it was a shock, my gran had fibroids and I was starting to wonder but went to GP thinking I had a kidney or water infection!
I'll be very unlucky if it's more than a shave but both surgeons have gone overboard telling me about the risks. He said the nodule's located high enough to avoid a stoma but again risk of needing one can't be ruled out 100%.
It will all be ok. If you have someone who can take you to hospital that's a good idea as you will feel very washed out and shaky after the bowel prep. Have you had an overnight stay in hospital before? I assume as it's private you will get your own room which should help.
Just keep going one day at a time. It's not long left to wait. x.
Yes hubby is on point and I had an unexpected emergency stopover last time. Yes you do get a room which is nice and the food wasn't too bad. So lucky I got insurance when I did.
Hun you'll be just fine. Just think one more week and you'll be on the road to recovery and fingers crossed your life back. Here for you always. Lots of love Jean.
Good luck Starry. I think some pre-op nerves are natural, but I agree with Jean. The op is your next step to recovery and getting your health and your life back.
