Hi, I'm 4 days post op after having a large simple ovarian cyst removed and both my ovaries, I still have had no bowel movement and my tummy is bigger now than when I had the cyst! Would like to know how long the bloatiness lasts and if you do actually lose any weight after this op! 😊

Large cyst and ovaries removed
Hi, I had surgery Friday, (second time I've had similar surgery). This time round I've had extensive adhesiolysis to unstick my pelvic organs and I've had my left ovary and a large endometrioma removed, my bowel was left attached behind my uterus because of damage risk. I came out of hospital yesterday. Had first bowel movement midday yesterday, but plenty of gas movement before that. I won't lie, thought I might have to call for gas and air and an epidural for the delivery lol!! I had been given lactulose whilst in hospital, but clearly still got a bit bunged up, since then I've had the opposite problem so have laid off the lactulose! If you haven't been passing an wind I'd get back in touch with the ward, I was told I could contact them for up to three days after my discharge. Whilst on the ward the doctor listened to my tummy on day one to check bowel was moving. she also advised me to chew gum as this apparently gets the system moving. Good luck - it gets quite worrying doesn't it!
