Hi ladies,

Had my lap done Monday, stayed in ovet night as was very poorly was released home yesterday afternoon.

The nurse said 4 days time i can remove plasters to my stitches little worried il get an infection if im honest. Is it best to check them tomorrow or should i completely avoid till friday when the nurse at my gp is checking them.

How did you care for yours? I have 4 incisions x

I removed all my plasters after 48 hours. You're going to be sore and may still bleed a bit as it's only Wed and your op was on Monday, try not to panic. Just remember no baths, just showers, don't soak that area and gently dry.

I had my lap Monday morning and was told not to wet or remove the dressings at all until 5 days later. I'm doing as I'm told. There is no way I'm going to muck about with my stitches. I would do as they told you and just wait. It's not worth risking recovery and healing.

I was told I could take mine off the next day but they were actually scabbed over by then. But yes, follow the advice you've been given is the best bet.

If they've given you water proof dressings you can shower
