As I had to leave before I saw the consultant, I never knew what actually went on. The nurse who told me they found no endo wouldn't let me look at the report but told me that I'd get one (but don't know how??) Do I have to go to my GP and ask for it and, if photos were taken, am I allowed to see them?

Asking For Lap Report
Did it not say anything on your discharge notes? X
I was told bugger all, they came in and said they found nothing you can go home now and that was as much as I got x
I had a similar experience, never saw the consultant before i was sent home, was just given my discharge note (didn’t even tell me what was on it) and told it was time for me to go! I ended up having to go and see my GP as they never even gave me a sicknote and he went through my discharge note with me as it made no sense to me at all. Turns out i have no endo but both my tubes are blocked x
That sounds like a good idea, I need to go for a fit note so I'll have an ask then x Just don't like how I was sort of shoved out while I was still sobbing and unable to walk haha x
I no exactly what you mean, i was crying in absoloute agony and could barely walk, and they wouldn’t even let me go to the car in a wheelchair i had to walk from one end of the hospital to the other. It was awful! My GP said day case operation aftercare is always rubbish they want your bed for the next person coming up from recovery. Have you been told you’ll have a post op follow up appt? Xx
Nope, was told that he didn't want to see me again and if symptoms carried on, which they already are doing, to go to my GP and see what they could offer, so thinking of going back asking for an MRI, but i have a piece of paper telling me my stitches will dissolve but apparently a nurse told my dad to see the GP to get them taken out so it's all mixed messages x
I never even got told anything about my stitches! X
Hi, there’s an NHS wide policy of copying letters to patients. Not absolutely everywhere does it, but they should. So I guess they meant that when the consultant writes to your GP with a summary of your treatment, you should get a copy. It normally takes a few weeks. If nothing arrives I’d make a GP appointment and ask to see it.
I don’t think your GP will have copies of the photos. They usually stay in the hospital notes. You can get access by requesting a copy of your notes from the hospital. It’s quite a formal process - you have to complete a written application - but you have the right to do so and all hospitals process these routinely. Again, it takes a few weeks.
I hope that helps.
