You need something stronger than paracetamol - have you take codeine or tramadol before? Either can help but you need a prescription for them.
You can buy co codamol (codeine & Paracetemol) from the pharmacist.
If you have a tens machine give that a try - I didn't find any relief from one, but some ladies do, so worth a try.
Good luck
Hi Soph. Paracetamol doesn't touch my Endo pain one bit. As far as over the counter goes try nurofen/ibuprofen. It helps so much more as it's an anti-inflammatory. As Marcia says, do see your GP as you clearly need something stronger. I use codeine 15mg-45mg depending on pain level and tramadol when it's very severe. I always start taking ibuprofen a few days before my period is due and continue throughout. It works better if you start taking it in advance. Codeine and tramadol are fine to take with ibuprofen so I layer up depending on how bad the pain becomes. I constantly use my hot water bottle when it's bad too. Xx
Thanks ladies ...I was prescribed codiene and naproxen but they make me dizzy and vomit. I have the coil fitted and I'm waiting for an appointment for my second lap.
I usually am pretty good at handling the pain but last night was so severe I almost went to a and e.
Xx
Yes, if I take high dose codeine or tramadol I usually need to take an anti-sickness tablet too and even then I just need to stay in bed and try to sleep. I already feel sick with Endo and the painkillers trigger it to start vomiting and then you're stuck with the pain if you can't keep painkillers down. Awful cycle. This is just me but naproxen and mefanamic acid didn't benefit me any greater than nurofen so I switched back to that. Speak to your dr as if naproxen made you dizzy and nausea maybe anti-inflammatories don't suit you but if they don't think it's that I'd recommend taking ibuprofen from 4 days before a flare and continue throughout (yep, we need to be able to predict the future regarding when a flare is going to hit too with this disease 😣). It's worth a try although it's no miracle but it helps to take the edge of for me. I'm glad it's calmed down a bit. It can be utterly terrifying when the pain is horrific. Xx
