What happens at the pre-op assessment for a lap?

It's nearing my pre-op assessment for my 1st laparoscopy (Wednesday) in preparation for my op on Friday.

I was just wondering what is done at the pre-op assessment? What sort of health checks do they carry out etc.?

usually they will check height/weight and take blood for whatever blood tests have been ordered. They might swab for mrsa. They'll check your bp/heart rate ans talk you through the procedure and recovery, and give you your instructions for the op re eating/drinking etc. If the surgeon wants you to do bowel prep beforehand you'll be given everything for that.
