That stuff still around???? I used it 20 years ago and HATED IT! Hopefully it's improved and you don't experience what I did!! Best tip ... prepare those around you for the rollercoaster mood swings you are about to embark on. Start with the normal monthly hope to despair ride and throw in intensified mood swings. I used the stuff for about 3 years and ended up with polycystic ovaries (one scan showed 19 follicles) so that cycle we were "banned" from having sex. Having said all that I also know many children born as a result of it. I hope you are one of the lucky ones.

xx

oh well, that doesn't sound very nice... ive read about the mood swings but that's not an issue, its more a case of is it going to help us conceive? Id like to think 20 years on it has improved massively. I know you cant use it for more than 6 consecutive cycles and have to be monitored on each cycle because of what is can cause so hopefully I will be okay. sorry to hear about your story, did it help you conceive? xx

I tried clomid for a few years, then five years of IVF. Ended up on a naturopaths herbal concoction for seven years and conceived naturally. It made me feel "normal ", my body finally started to ovulate properly and my endometriosis was controlled. Still look at my girls and thank God for my miracle children.

Hi, i was diagnosed with PCOS in april, put on metformin and then clomid in May. I experienced crazy mood swings, from crazy laughing to anger and crying. I also experienced a lot of pain and fatigue, and nausea!

I had four rounds and then had to stop it in august because the pain was so bad, i literally couldnt walk, eat, or work so they booked me in for an emergency scan and i was told i had a huge cyst. So i had to stop treatment. And not been on it since. Im now having a laparoscopy in the next two weeks as i have suspected Endometrosis.

Good luck though! My friend and auntie got pregnant on it! Xx

oh god, another horrible story about clomid. I know a few people who have taken it and had a few side effects like headaches and mood swings (I can deal with those) & my consultant has said each cycle I will be having regular scans to ensure everything is working as it should so fingers crossed it works for me. Sorry to hear about your awful time on it!! Good luck for your lap xx

Yeah I was scanned every month, but after the last scan the pain was really bad, looking back now I should have phoned my Doc, but I wanted to continue through the pain incase of any chance I could concieve as that 4th round was the first time I ovulated!

Thank you! Good luck x
