Tramadol

Hi

I have been taking tramadol for months now as it's the only thing that helps with the pain,but my problem is I can't sleep if I take it any time after lunch does anyone have any advice for me.

I used to have the same problem but after taking it so long it has passed, but when I first took it I tried Nytol to help me sleep. Or boots own make sleepeaze which kinda helped a bit x

Hi what make tramadol are you on?

As I'm on zydol tramadol

And they make me tired all day and night, I can go to bad at night and have 10 hrs wake up in the morning and go back to sleep an hour later and have another 5-6hrs then wake for an hour or so and then sleep again,

But first time I was on them I only slept for 1-3 hrs and was full of life, doing my work quickly and good,

Doing my things around the house,

Spending quality time with my kids

But now these tramadol I'm on effects all that,

I need to try and find the makes of others that will give me that kick up the ass, that's why I ask what make your on,

Hi I have tramadol 50ml made by Bristol labs ltd (I think they are all the same just different suppliers )most people that I speak to say tramadol knocks them out now I make sure that I don't take any in the evening so that I can sleep,I've had a couple of tramadol injections and they effect me just the same.I don't think that tramadol is something that anybody should be on for too long but it's the only thing that seems to work for me.

Hi, I've had

Bristol labourites,

Avasis (think it spelt right)

Also zydol,

But think I when I was first on tramadol it was a different make, as it use to keep me awake all night & day, had loads of energy, but Bristol & avasis didn't work on me at all and zydol makes me really tired with no energy at all, so that's why I'm trying to find out other makes to try other makes of tramadol.

Definitely recommend you advise your GP as I had to be weaned off tramadol. My GP advised it is not meant for long term use and there are so many side effects.

Not sure how you take it but Tramadol has to be taken the same way each time. So if you have it with food in the morning have it with food throughout, if you don't have it with food in the morning avoid having it with food later in the day.

I do believe in the info sheet that insomnia is a side effect so would suggest a GP appointment

Yes I am very careful when taking tramadol I only take one then I top up on paracetamol (I would really like to stop taking tramadol and other pain killers )but for now it's the only thing that works I don't take any pain killers lightly I see my doctor regularly.

I would get in touch with the doc thoygh about how it's affecting your sleep, hopefully you can eventually not need the pain killers but I know myself that it can be a long process. Wishing you the best

I take 2 50mg tabs in the morning for chronic back pain and I'm good to go for the day. Yes it will keep her awake if taken later in the day.
