Hello everyone

I finally received my surgery date, the 24th of June

This is my first laparoscopy, so it could be +/- treatment. It isn't overnight stay but what shall I take with me for the day?

Also, I am staying at boyfriend house for three days including discharge day, what shall I pack and what shall I eat?

Hi there!

I had my second lap last year and I was most comfortable with my pj's! I didn't want to wear anything else! I would stock up on prune juice and cranberry juice as the operation messes with your system! Eat fresh food and fruits. Go for slow walks to get the gas from tesco operation out of your system. You may experience shoulder pain when breathing this is the gas that they pumped into you. Drink lots of water!

Good luck! X

Good luck with your laparoscopy. Can I ask how long you have been waiting for?

I saw the gyno in January, he referred me to have laparoscopy

I had my pre-surgery check at the end of March, was expecting to have the surgery in April

I was getting frustrated with the waiting as I wanted to know if I have endo for sure, 3 days to go now

Baggy pants and crop top or soft bra as you will be blown up with the gas they pump into the abdomen. Baggy pjs or nighties. Light weight dressing gown. Sanitary towels. Pain killers. Heat pack/hot water bottle. Some light reading. Throat sweets and lip salve. Face and body wipes to freshen up until you can shower.

East plenty of fibre before hand. And keep well hydrated afterwards.

Good luck
