Hi, does any of you know why the surgeon asked me to come back for a follow up appoitment after a laparoscopy in 8 weeks? I feel like the surgery didn't help and im axcious to discuss other options, don't want to wait another 6 weeks.. but maybe there is a reason he asked me to wait that long before coming back?
follow up app: Hi, does any of you know why... - Endometriosis UK
follow up app
My follow up is 6 weeks after my op. I personally think it's to give you time to come off meds and heal a great deal. Give you enough time to see how you really feel, but I guess if you're already not well, 8 weeks is a long time. Maybe try to call and schedule something sooner? Good luck!
I think it's just the length of time they give everyone. Like mommy 2 said to give you time to heal etc.
When I had mine done I was supposed to be seen within six weeks but it ended up 9 weeks and that was only because I rang and said I needed to see someone sooner. The first date they give me was 3 months after!
Keep pushing at it if you need to be seen sooner.
Did they give you your results after you had your lap?

He spoke to me after the operation, said I have endo.. He mentioned he sent the cut out adhesions for testing but I'm sure it doesn't take eight weeks to come back.
Later I got a letter home with full details and turns out I have a large cervical ectropion too; since the operation didn't help much, I'm thinking cervical ectropion is causing the pain and I need to get that treated? Although I know that would be unusual since apparently that doesn't cause so much pain.
You're right I need to heal though, even if I need another procedure they won't do it straight after laparoscopy so I should just be patient.
I'll just reschedule the app for 6th week :))
Thank you ladies for your replies! Xx
I have to wait 12 weeks for my follow up appt and like you don't think the op has worked. It's now nearly 8 weeks since for me so can't wait for the next 4 weeks to go.
Hope you get your answers soon x
Hi, its common. Mines 8 weeks follow up (now 6), gyno said it was to heal. I asked a lot of qs when he came to see me in recovery room so I sort of know how I am. Couple of days ago, I decided I'd do a walk around this track, its like 30-45mins depending on if you stop to take pics etc. I felt great beforehand like I was fine to do anything lol, afterwards.. my ovaries were pulsing and I felt awful.I jumped straight back on my painkillers! So healing time is definitely needed.
