I had a surgery yesterday and I had my appendix taken out but I have pain in my upper chest and shoulders

Hi there,

It's probably from the gas they pump into your stomach area so they can see what they are doing in there, it's awfully painful, I had it last week after my op.

I found that lying down was less painful for me although some say to try move around when you can as it helps the gas come out quicker. I also drank a lot of peppermint tea.

Mine lasted for about 2 days.

Hi lovely.

Did you have keyhole surgery! If so they pump gas into your stomach so they can get to your organs better. I had it badly in my shoulders after. When you can manage it take gentle walks round the house to disperse the gas.

Also peppermint tea helps! Xx

Yes there are tablets that you can get from chemist that help disperse the gas, I think I had some called 'windez'. I really feel for you as I had this after my gallbladder removal, very painful. 😳
