hi i was woundering if any of us could help me. i am getting my lap on tusday and im getting really nervous and pushing my parnter away and my best friend, i have the mirane coil in and a dont no if gettting the lap done will affect it

Hi. It is a scary thought having an operation. Tell your partner and friend how you are feeling. They will want to help you and you will need the support. I dont believe the lap will affect your coil but hopefully someone can tell you for definate

I had a lap done with coil fitted and I didn't have any issues 😊 Hope this helps, it's best to talk how your feeling to everyone so they understand what your going through xxx

it's so ok to be nervous,I am too I'm having mine on Wednesday. I had one in June as well. I had the coil in when I went for surgery and it did not effect mine at all. Fear is anger on the way out and because your scared you are pushing them away. Putting your life in someone else's hands is a big thing I like to feel in control and this is the most out of control thing ever. It's is a normal emotion to feel like you do I'm keeping busy so I don't think too much I have two four year olds that do a very good job at helping me keep busy. I have sleep apnea so I worry about them putting me to sleep and never seeing them again so I have to focus on all the things I will be able to do with them when I'm better it's hard but, but it's hard thinking the worst I'm here if you need to let all your fears out big hugs xx Kaysha

Hi thanks i know how you feel i have 2 kids to a 3 and a half yearold and a 20month old i try to make my self busy so i dont think of it but i keep think the worst xx

Hi, I had my lap done last month, I have a mirena coil too. The operation didn't affect it at all. I was really nervous as well! I just told my family and boyfriend how I was feeling and it made it better, I told them things that I was worried about and they stopped me from being worried about most things, but an operation is scary. Everyone who works in a hospital will be lovely to you and help you in any way you can. I'm here if you need me, good luck for Tuesday xxx

Thank you. I dont like showing how i feel with any1 that nows me lol. I know every 1 at the hospital will be nice to me am just really really scared of needles. I have had surgery be for to get my tonsils removed and when i was wating to get the anasthetic i was burning up and swetting soo much coz of the size of the neddle xxx

Oh ok, I'm not scared of needles luckily. The only thing I can think of is once I had to have a local anaesthetic put on my hand before it was injected for another condition I have, and honestly I could not feel a thing. Maybe you could buy some anaesthetic/skin numbing cream so that you won't know that the needle is there? Or tell the staff how scared of needles you are? If you can't then the needle will be out before you know it anyway xxx

Hey Hun no it won't affect it the coil will help prevent it coming back as fast I'm having one fitted in my next lap Hun and don't push them away you will need help and hugs after the lap for a bit as post op is a little pain full xx all the best
