Mirena removal

Hi ladies, I am wondering if anyone can help. I had mirena coil put in during laparoscopy and ablation in July. I went to see my consultant Fri as I have had pain return. He suggested I have coil removed as it had been in long enough to work and it appears it hasn't. He said it could be adding to bloating too. He removed it there and then a bit of a shock as I wasn't expecting it. Other than a little weight gain I haven't had any side affects from the coil. However now it has been removed I feel awful, flu like, extremely emotional and nauseous has anyone else had this experience? If so how long did it last?
