Thankyou, it's all so confusing, they are saying they have to treat my pain as my endo has been treated and they don't think it's the cause of my pain anymore. The side effects worry me a little , can gabapentin be taken if you are going to be driving? Thanks very much xx

I was on 400mg of Gabapentin for about a year as part of attempting to manage my endo pain... Honestly, it wasn't a successful thing for me at all...And as I understand it, gaba is more for nerve pain than for our type of stuff.... But that was just my experience. I always took it at night when i was going to bed in order to avoid dealing with the very weird wooziness and such that arises from it.

I also tried Cymbalta ...and found absolutely no benefit from it, and the side effects were horrible...

I found the most success earlier on with tramadol and tramacet (the long acting version of the former)... However, I found that due to a need to continue to increase the dosages- I advanced to hydromorphone last year... I currently take 8mg of long acting twice a day, and 2mg pills of fast acting - i generally take those 3 at a time either when I've aggravated my pain with activity, or in the evening when the long acting stuff has worn off.

I was told by my doctor that it is a booster pill for pain and it does work. I am on 300 mg three times a day, but like in the earlier past, it does make you sleepy and I only take one at bedtime. It was highly recommend if I could just get past the sleepiness. I take several other meds that make you sleepy. It is a nerve pain med, but sometimes your pain could be coming from nerves being pressed on.

I was prescribed gabapentin by my pain management consultant. I was on 300mg but found it knocked me side ways especially as I get up early for work. After a month my GP lowered it to 100mg tabs. I take one every night. My pain is when I have my period and it has helped. I take an extra 1 or 2 if I really need it. My pain consultant said that as I know I'm going to have the pain it makes the pain worse. The gabapentin helps the nerves not react as much. Hope it helps you. Everyone is different so we all react differently. I'd say try it to see if it works x
