Well I now have my 2nd lap booked in with the hospital (very quick turnaround). I am booked for the 25th of August. Now my nerves have set in and I keep think is about how uncomfortable I was after my last one. Does anyone have any tips that can help.
TIA Chelle

Had my 2nd 10 weeks ago. Only had 3 weeks notice and was so busy getting organised at work and home to think about it. I was amazingly calm when it came to it. I was only uncomfortable for 2 or 3 days afterwards and had a lot more done on the 2nd. You will be fine.
No but the consultant who is doing it works alongside the specialists and has taken advice from them before offering me anything, not before he told me to just "have a baby" mind you xx
Windeze capsules! I religiously took them from after the first meal after the op and I continued on them for 7-10 days... No shoulder pain (unlike my previous experience with a laparotomy).
Make sure you have some stuff to help you go to the poo - I use movicol and fybogel anyway so I already had it, but whatever works for you. You don't want to deal with constipation after the surgery and the anaesthetic/morphine do seem to tend to create that problem.
Also very comfy clothes - I got two pairs of yoga pants (cheap black ones from M & S) that were a size larger than my normal size so that nothing was pressing on me. I also found 2 long cotton nighties that were very similar in shape to a hospital gown but without the open back - got them a size larger too and wore them in bed so that nothing was constructing or pressing... Very comfy! I got a cheap pack of Bridget Jones style knickers in Sainsbury's that were larger than normal as I bloat like a puffer fish... I found this stuff useful as I had a very long recovery from my lap and none of it goes to waste as can be used when having period or ovulation particularly if a bloater lol
Thank you for your advice. I still have peppermint tablets in because of trapped wind anyway. I also have my bridgets ready ha ha I am a BLOATER constantly.
I am going to purchase some nighties this weekend ready. Any excuse to buy some Disney stuff ha ha.
