It depends what your work entails

If you're sitting down and not moving around a lot, you might be ok.

But it's more about how you feel overall - even a short lap can knock you out in terms of energy levels and mood swings for ages.

Only you can decide really, but listen to your body and don't push it if it's not ready, you'll only set yourself back

Good luck! :)

Hi

Depends what they do in your lap - is it just a diagnostic lap? If so you may be ok after a week but its one of those really annoying things where no one really knows how they will feel or how fast they will recover until after the lap. When I had my diagnostic lap the surgeon tried to remove some adhesions and a few patches of endo as well and I was back at work after 10 days (think I had the lap on Thursday and went back to work a week Tuesday), however I didn't feel properly recovered for a good 4-5 weeks.

In comparison, I am having an operative lap on Monday and have been told I will need up to 6 weeks off but I'm sure they would have warned you about that at your pre-op or when you saw the consultant if they think you could need that long off!

Good luck with your lap x

Thank you both your comments have really helped. It is a diagnostic lap I am having but also a Hysteroscopy to remove polyps.

Its good to know not to expect too much after a week or so. Good luck to you too hope all goes well xx

i went back to work a week after the lap. i drove myself with a cushion between my belly and the seat belt. I had a diagnostic lap, dye test, hysteroscopy and they ablated mild endometriosis in my pouch of douglas.

But my work does involve a lot of sitting down and not so much running around/moving so it was easy. it does take a bit of effort but I wanted to go back to things as soon as possible.
