I'm going into hospital on Wednesday for a diagnostic lap, hysteroscopy and dye test.
I work as a primary school teacher. Can anyone give me an idea of how long I can expect to be off work? It's not so much a physical job, but generally demanding and non - stop!
Thanks

I just had this op last Wed (6th) had a little endo removed and adhesions. I went back to work on Thurs (14th) but I would have been up to going in Tues/Wed. Its more the general anaesthetic which takes a while to leave your system.
I had a diagnostic lap and adhesion removal 2 years ago and had 2 weeks off. I teach secondary. In all honesty i should have taken a 3rd week given the nature of the job as I was exhausted all of the first week back and very grateful the following week for a couple of snow days!
Agree! Ideally 2 weeks, but at least one - if you have Wednesday - Friday followed by half term you should prob be ok, if that's when your half term is! Good luck x
I am a secondary teacher and I took 3 weeks, though I thought i would be ok after a week! I went back part time initially and I was knackered after the first week. If you don't feel right, stay at home and rest. Hope you feel better soon x
Thanks everyone. So far I'm feeling okay. Still sore but only a few days in so sure that will begin to improve soon. I'm aiming to go back after half term but if I'm not right I'll take a few extra days.
