I've been to the doctors today to finally explain my symptoms. She's said it could possibly be endometriosis or a cist on my ovary. So I'm having blood tests and a scan soon. She was really lovely as i was worried i was just going to be told that 'that's just the way it is.' At least I've finally started the ball rolling.
Tests!: I've been to the doctors today to... - Endometriosis UK
Tests!
Hey!
I'm in the same boat - just being referred for scans and met my gynaecologist for the first time last week. I really hope things work out (for both of us!)
Good luck with everything lovely!

Hiya Hannah! It's so nice to know that other people are going through the same thing. I hope it all goes well for you!

Thanks! I mean it's pretty scary but at the same time i'm glad i'm being taken seriously finally and getting help. I'm sure you feel the same way
It is scary! But yes it's good to get some help. I was very lucky that my doctor was really understanding. I've read about so many women being going un-diagnosed for years so I was really worried about going!
I'm so glad your doctor was understanding, sadly by what i've read it seems to be quite rare which is so sad!
The same thing kind of happened to me. Well, I had been to a GP about it before but got dismissed, so when i moved surgeries I decided to try again. I was so nervous before I went and I really had to mentally prepare myself for it. I thought about what i wanted to say and told myself i had to be assertive... and then she was like 'oh yeah it sounds like you could have endo, i'll send you for tests' like it was the easiest thing in the world and i was like huh????? I was shocked!
It goes to show how little understanding there is about endometriosis when we as potential sufferers have to psych ourselves up to ask for help.
Oh that's awful! I wrote myself a list of all of my symptoms and when they happened and took them with me to show her incase I forgot anything. She must've thought I had alot of time on my hands! Was just worried about bwing turned away! It's good to hear you found a doctor that was helpful
