Title says it all really, how do you know what stage of Endometriosis you are?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, when you have a laparoscopy and are diagnosed your surgeon should tell you, I've been diagnosed 10 days ago, mine didn't say what stage, but said it wasn't advanced so I'm thinking stage 1 but will check on follow up, I was also diagnosed with adenomyosis, and he said that is server advanced,
I think there are a few places that if it's found at it is stage 4 no mater what, but mainly depends on location depth and size,
I hope this helps,
Hmm unsure as it seems to vary depending on what you read. I was told I was stage three the first time based on extent and location. Wiki puts it really simply although I'm sure there are much more in depth explanations.
Stage I (Minimal)
Findings restricted to only superficial lesions and possibly a few filmy adhesions
Stage II (Mild)
In addition, some deep lesions are present in the cul-de-sac
Stage III (Moderate)
As above, plus presence of endometriomas on the ovary and more adhesions.
Stage IV (Severe)
As above, plus large endometriomas, extensive adhesions.
Hope it's helps at least a little...
Hi Hun. My gynocalagist inform me after my laparoscopies. Have a look on the endo uk site for advice too. Take care Julie. Xx
A lot of surgeons don't tend to stage anymore as it has no correlation to the amount of pain u might be getting. For example, stage 1 u can have extreme pain and stage 3/4 hardly any and vice versa. x
