Hi Pinkyy

Did you have a laparoscopy to confirm endo? My surgeon did a lap and said he removed all my endo which he didn’t. I was still in pain afterwards so I requested my medical notes which had pictures of the surgery in it. I got a second opinion and they could see from the pics that he had left a huge nodule of endo on my bladder which was why I still had pain.

No havent had a laparoscopy he said because of my age they wouldnt do it im 23 with no children iv only had the GnRH treatment for 3 months and that didnt help me so hes said it cant be endo if that didnt help iv looked up about this treatment and its not always effective but he just wanted to dissmiss me and not try anything else!

The only accurate way to diagnose endometriosis is by having a laparoscopy, I am 21 with no children and had my diagnostic lap last year, I am booked in to have a lap including excision surgery later this year.. I have been on numerous hormone pills, treatments and injections, none of them worked and In fact made me worse because they caused more pain and constant bleeding- I was still diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis, I would advise to get a second opinion!

I had my first lap a week after I turned 21 and yeah, hormones effect everyone so differently. He was messing you about. It can be very hard to feel listened to with these things, I'm sorry this happened to you. Definitely try to see someone else if you can

hi pinkyy, this sounds very typical of dr's, they don't know what they on about unless they a gynecologist who specializes in endometriosis, and they do this for a job all day every day. (there is different types of gynes). an example of an endometriosis specialist gynecologist is dr tamer seckin - new york. find one in your area. or....travel to new york!

i now have to go to gastroenterology to rule out ibs apart from having stomach cramps i have no other symptoms for this i just wish they had tried me with another GNrh treatment Synarel as this says its the best one to lessen pelvic pain which i have every day even worse when i have my period 👎

I was 20 when I had my lap, went to the gp and demanded a second opinion and the doctor referred me straight through to surgery a week later. Nothing was found (had been on the pill for 4 years so not surprising) and I was told it was my bowels, so went and took all the buscopan and had all the tests and that found nothing either, so went back to the doctors who have agreed that it might be endo that was missed the first time. You're entitled to a second opinion so ask to be referred to a hospital that has a decent gynae team x

Thanks just seems like im not getting anywhere im seeing my doctors again in a couple of weeks time to discuss what is next i asked to see a specialist but she said that any gynocologist is a specialist im not sure if this is true?

Not all are specialists in endo but a gynae is more likely to have a better idea than a GP x
