I had the exact same response to mirena, plus my hair fell out at a dramatic rate. Prostap is a very different drug to the synthetic progesterone contained within the mirena coil so it's hard to predict what you're reaction will be unfortunately.
Of course what you do now is entirely up to you but if you really feel your mood is being affected by the mirena coil then get it taken out ASAP and take it from there good luck! Feel free to message me if you need to chat xxx
I've had mine in for 8 months now, it's my 3rd. Towards the end of my 2nd I started experiencing pmt/low mood/anger I had a 6 month break between the 2nd and 3rd but the specialist kind of forced me to try it again. I haven't been great at all with this one at all and really want to have it out. I refused to have any injection as I thought if the mirena made me like this god knows what the injections would have done to me.
Its scary isn't dadda76, I really don't like the idea of being injected with something that stays in the system so long. Atleast the mirena is removable! Think I will be talked into it though, I was told by one consultant not to have the mirena and then another says have it. No wonder we are at our wits end! x
It's awful. I point blank refused for the same reason. You have no control if it's in your system and you experience side effects you just have to get on with it. Scared the life out of me x
Glad its not just me, sometimes its like being backed into a corner and the walls closing in! These experts don't like hearing drug related fears do they! x
