For the pasts three months I've had extreme pain and have been uncomfortable. This all kicked off after taking the morning after pill in November, after endless amounts of hospital & GP visits I have been told I have endometriosis (I'm currently 19). I have been given the combined pill and sent on my way. It's been a scary and quite frankly emotional day but I'm relieved to now know what it is. I'm now wondering what to do. Do I demand more answers? It seems that I've been turned away without any support at all from the health services. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
Sorry to hear what you are going through. In my opinion you should ask your GP to refer you to a gynaecologist who should be able to give you further advice. As far as I am aware a laparoscopy is the only way to truly diagnose Endo so you can push a gynaecologist for that. I am currently in the combined pill to help with the symptoms I currently have from possible Endo and I am to go back to my gynae at the end of April to see if it's helped my symptoms, in the appointment I am really going to push for a laparoscopy.
I'm not having a great time on the pill, on my first month and am on day 15 of a period!! Plus I get very nauseous. But it has reduced my pain.... Although that's not a trade off I am happy living with really.
Sorry to go on about me, just thought it was a bit of a similar experience to you xx
Yes. You need to get some help from a Dr. that knows what to do. Instead of sending you on your way. And not helping. Get a better Dr. would probably be your best bet. Sounds like you didn't have a good Dr.
