Hi not sure if u will know the answer as I know everyone is different but I was wondering how long after a Mirena insertion do you have a period. Cannot sleep tonight for the typical endo pain and I think I may be coming on. I had the Mirena fitted just over two weeks ago at same time as I had a hysteroscopy.

Hi after having my first mirena fitted I spotted for 6 weeks then went on to a regular 3 day monthly very light periods. Had the second fitted 6 years later and again had regular 3 day monthly light periods. My third was fitted in July last year after a 6 month break I spotted for 1 day then had a 7 day period a month later, since then the bleeding has been all over the place. The mirena has never helped me with pain just reduces the bleeding. Hope you get some relief soon. x

The first one I had in 2009 was fitted while I was in my period mid July and I didn't stop bleeding until October (I had been given chlamydia by ex so that didn't exactly help either). The second one I had fitted during my diagnostic lap and pain and reduced bleeding came back within a month. I had it taken out in 2013 thinking it wasn't doing anything then when I came it didn't stop for months. It was reducing the amount of blood and in retrospect it did help so I'm having one put back in at next lap. Hope you feel better soon x

Hi I had my mirena put in during a lap, so a lot of healing was needed but mine took months to settle sorry to say but it's the best thing I ever did!

I had a Mirena fitted November 14th last year. I think I've just in my first period. I actually am having endo pain at the same time. I know others who don't have any periods whilst using the Mirena.
