Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a relatively pain free day ❤️ I had a mirena coil fitted approx 7 weeks ago - does anyone know how long until it starts working? I have been bleeding for 15 days and my cramps are progressively getting worse 😖
Mirena: Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a... - Endometriosis UK
Mirena
Hi, They told me when I had it fitted in October 2019 it should take 2 months , then 6 months. I understand it’s normal to have really bad cramps at the being I did too they did go eventually. Hope the Mirena settles for you soon and works. It hasn’t for me ☹️unfortunately. All the best 💛
Thank you Hollie! I insisted on having a follow up 6 months later as I said if it doesn’t work by then I went excision and the doctor agreed (thankfully!). Sorry to hear that yours isn’t working 😔 I have a feeling mine won’t either... another side effect I’m having is VERY painful nipples..?! Did you get this? I find this strange as the doctors assured me I would have no hormonal side effects as the hormone is localised (I’m very hormone website and can’t take any of the pills)
Yes my nipples have been very painful too. Even just trying to get my bra on 😖. I’m having my Mirena coil taken out Tuesday has it hasn’t been fitted in properly 😢. Not sure what I’m going to do.
Yes!! Can’t even put a bra on without so much pain either 😖😭 went clothes shopping today and gave up because trying things on was causing too much nipple pain 😔 oh that things us endo babes have to put up with!!! Oh no 😔 how are you on the pills? Or mini pill?
I was taking a pill 3 months and then 7days off called rigevidon for 7 years until last September I had to stop because of severe headaches and my blood pressure was very high. Going to ask about the progestogen only pill. And about the depo injection. Just wish I spoke up more about just removing the Mirena so much pain on my right side. They was talking about replacing it but I don’t think I want it replaced.
