Hi all, I have peppermint tea at hand, what else did you find helpful?
I work as a welder & I have no idea how long I will be signed off either as I do a heavy lifting, when I had a cyst removed I had 2 month off & it was toture & I still split my stitches. It was a blur at the time & has filled me with more dread this time round as it was a emergency. I also have a 2nd career as a fashion designer clarewhitt.com never give up on the dream & all that. The pressures of it & tight deadline/proposal while working day job full time is really weighing me down. I feel like I've failed myself by chosing a career surrounded by males who don't understand & having this constant womb fog. Ive lost 2 jobs in the last 10 years because of this. I want to be back on feet as soon as possible.

Please don't rush to go back to work people think because its day surgery it's ok but seriously the amount of internal work that is done you need to give you body time to recover and get back to normal I didn't feel great until at least 3 months after the op and was very hard on myself to et back to normal and regret that now. Like my doctor said you can't see what they've done inside and you've had a lot of work done give yourself time! Obviously if you feel better soon then I guess that's ok but I wouldn't teccomenes lifting for at least 6 months you will have to check with your doctor! Good luck with your op and wishing you a speedy recovery x x
I fully agree with Croydebay..... Everyone's recovery rate is different so don't compare yourself or surgery with anyone else on this site, we're all different, we've all had different surgeries and we all have a different recovery rates.
I tried to get back to normal after a week (after reading other peoples posts and comparing) and I made myself really I'll. it took me 3 months to start to feel well in the end.
If you try to get back to work too early, you'll only push your recovery time back further, as you well know from past experience.
My biggest advice would be to rest, I thought I was better after a few days so decided to drive etc - it just set me back & made me more poorly! Green tea is amazing too! Good luck xxx
I understand about yr job and the need to get back to work asap! But please don't race back, you do need to give yourself time to heal and you will feel very tired for a few weeks. I felt much better after the first week, but then went out to do a food shop with my husband and my god I was exhausted when I got back. I was under a long time though, 5 hours. Most laps are about 1 to 2 hours. If you race back to work too soon you will put yr recovery back even more.
When I went back to work I still got hot stabs etc while it all cleared up inside. As yr work is physical you really should recover fully before you go back. Tell yr surgeon after the op about yr work and he will advise
The trapped wind is painful so peppermint tea will help. Eat healthily as too much junk food and refined sugar will make you even more constipated. The anesthetic will make you a bit blocked up for a few days!
Don't overdo it at home, but potter and amble about to keep yr circulation going. But no cooking, lifting etc etc!
Thank you so much for all your comments. Im back home after the op today, they found & removed endo by P.O.D. I feel quite refreshed but im dosed up. X
