I'm so tired.

I genuinley feel exhausted all the time. The word tired doesn't even cover it. People think i'm being lazy because I get up for work at 5am then get home at 3pm and fall asleep on the sofa, my body just feels totally drained and wiped out.

Its Friday night, and although i'm working all weekend, it would still be nice to feel awake enough to just watch some tv with my other half. Its taking over my life! If i'm not tired from this then i'm tired from painkillers.

Anyone any advice on how to cope with this fatigue?? :(

Xxx

The only advice I can give you is to cut your working hours so you can have a sleep in the afternoon and hopefully be able to spend some awake time in the evening with your partner .

Of switch to reduced working week, 2 days in work 1 day off 1 days in 3 off, or whatever suits you best.

There is no cure for the fatigue and we can't all survive on reduced hours salary , but if you're in a position to adjust the work/life balance to get more time to rest after a spell of activity (what ever that might be) you may find it easy to manage giving the right quality of attention to each of the tasks that are important to you and that certainly should include the relationship side of things.

I wish to god there was something we could do to ramp up the energy levels back to normal, but I haven't unearthed anything other than making allowances for the fatigue and taking time to rest in the schedule.

I only worked for an hour and a half today. I came home today at 1.30, had soup for lunch, fell asleep- missed dog walking and supper and woke at 9pm. I'd had a good night's sleep the night before, so it wasn't that demanding a day, but having been awake now since 9pm and its 1.30am, I've done nothing but had my tea and spent a little time online and I'm completely exhausted again. So I'm back off to bed again. Most days I can cope with a 4 hour sleep after my short shift at work then wake up and get some other things done before sleeping again. There is no way I could work a full day every day.

I used to work 6 days a week 13+ hours a day 2 jobs - both of them shift work....and I managed for nearly 20 years working like that. I have no idea if I burnt myself out or endo just got too severe and the chronic fatigue kicked in too much, but as much as I would love to be much more active, and in my head there are a million and one things to do, I just can't muster the awakeness or alertness to do them nowadays.

I started the zopalax and reduced all my other drugs, I've heard some horror stories but for me this drug has been an absolute God send !!!! I have energy very little pain and feel more human than ever before.

Sorry yr struggling so much. It really is a a bloody pain when it takes over the fun stuff in our lives. At certain times of the month when my endo really flared up I dreaded any plans or parties or commitments being in the diary as it was all just too much. So I understand how you feel.

The only thing you may try to alter (if yr not already doing so!) Is your diet. I find when I cut out or reduce significantly bread, white carbs, excessive sugar, etc it does help a bit. I eat healthily as a rule anyway but I do love bread, cheese and cake! I cut them out completely for 3 weeks to see if it did make a difference and I must admit I did have more energy by the end of that time. Snack on Loads fresh pineapple, melon, blueberries, strawberries etc. And eat loads of veg with yr evening meal. It did help me a bit.

I do believe making changes to yr diet can help, but not solve, some of the energy tiredness issues. Avoid too much caffeine and alcohol too.

Basically all the things that are nice!!

Take care and don't be too hard on yourself x

They love you so they'll understand I'm sure! Holiday sounds like what you need! Try and have power nap before you go out in the evening! I always have to do that these days if I'm going to have a late night! Sad but true! Hopefully yr going somewhere hot, so the vitamin d will give you a boost too! Have great time. Xx

Have you checked your iron levels? I was suffering in the same way you are and it was because I had become anemic, and its quite easy with Endo to become anemic.
