Stress period or miscarriage?

I have been under a ton of stress lately, I know that. But I got my period a week early this month. It's usually a normal 28 day cycle.

All of today, I have been having sharp pains in my uterus, inflammation and it's swollen and sensitive to the touch. I have been going through more tampons than I usually do and my uterus hurts when I urinate. I also have bad lower back pain. The bleeding is a lot more than I am used to.

My normal periods have slight cramping and moderate bleeding. Nothing like what I am experiencing.

I have one child and am 6 months postpartum.

Stress period, or something more serious? I am probably going to call my gynecologist on Monday for further advice.

Another possibilty is a urinary tract infection - see your GP with a urine sample to get it checked out.
