Does anyone else have bouts of insomnia? I couldn't sleep at all last night and I was burning hot. I've woken up this morning and started bleeding AGAIN(my period was last week and I had to stay off work with pain). (Newly diagnosed with endo). I've had this most my life but I find it much more difficult now I'm working full time with two young children. I just want to be normal I'm feeling so so fed up with this! I try my best so soldier on as there's people much much worse off but I'm sick of feeling sick! Sorry for the rant, I find it hard to stay strong when I'm so tired

I completely understand how you feel. I don't know how you manage with 2 kids and a full time job! Well done!!! People have no idea the kind of pain and suffering we have to put up with. Because it doesn't show on the outside, it's even more difficult to explain. I get bouts of insomnia all the time. It's 1:15am and I'm still bright eyed and bushy tailed; not a hint of sleep in my eyes. Please feel free to come and rant here anytime. We understand each other and know how important it is to have a good rant every now and then. I pray that you'll find the strength to continue soldiering on.

It's awful isn't it!! I can go for weeks with only 3 or 4 hours sleep. It gets to the stage where I'm frightened to go to bed because I know I wont sleep and be awake for hours. I've had a couple of weeks getting full nights sleep and I'm still exhausted. It's hard to cope with simple things when you are tired, I don't have kids thankfully as I don't know how I would cope. I haven't done any housework for over a week. I would give anything to be normal again.

Sorry I've no advice. Hope things improve for you x

Yes!!!! I have always suffered with insomnia!!! I've been with my partner for 2 and a half years, and lived together nearly 2 years.... He has only ever woke up once and I was asleep... in all that time, I live of 1-3 hours a night and then about once every 3 months I will have a week where I can't get enough sleep!! I really feel for you working full time and having 2 kids!! I only have one child and couldn't cope with work!! I've ended up going self employed as it was the only way I could manage! Try and find a place where you can be alone and just do nothing!! Even if it's just laying in a bath for an hour, if you can empty your mind and just relax for a bit it might be easier for you to sleep, and even if it doesn't help you will still feel a lot better for it :)

Hi Hinesm. I've been the same since I started on decapeptyl injections. I spoke to the pharmacist and she recommended Sominex which you can get over the counter. Been taking them every other night for about a week and I'm sleeping so much better now. Definitely worth a try is absolutely helping me get through my day with a decent nights sleep. Good luck xx

Thank you so much for the comments ladies it means a lot. I managed to get a few hours sleep last night, I took some kalms and had chamomile tea an just lay there for a few hours trying not to think xx it's awful what we have to go through isn't it :( I've asked my employer can I drop a day as I'm finding it all too much and I don't want to end up having a break down! X

Yes! I've always found I get really hot at night the week of my period too, very odd. I do think I'm getting a mental block about sleeping now though as another poster said I dread going to bed and the thought of not sleeping. Also stuff on your mind and racing thoughts keep me awake! I've just ordered some valerian tablets to try, it's the same as nytol night, will try anything!!

Have you ever been prescribed amitriptyline? It is a medication that you take every day and can help with pain. I’m not really sure how much it helps me with regards to pain but one of the side effects is that it makes you very sleepy so you have to take it at night. For that reason I love it as does a friend of mine who also suffers with chronic pain although it is caused by something else. I never used to be able to sleep but since taking amitriptyline I sleep 8 hours a night. The good thing is that because it’s not a sleeping tablet it doesn’t actually knock you out so if your children needed you you would be able to respond.

I hope this helps Xx
