Hey, I'm just trying to gather more information about prostap injection that I've started to see if it will help the symptoms of endometriosis.
I had my first injection on the 28th of June and within two days my bleeding stopped and I felt absolutely fine. But a week later I bled again but it didn't seem normal, it was very large clots and seemed like old blood.. This went on for about a week and a half although I was bleeding I had no pain.. But now that I've stopped bleeding I got woken up in the night with period pain and it still hasn't wore off. I'm not sure if this is normal or has happened to anyone else. Any advice or information would be really helpful! I don't feel like my doctors have really explained what's going to happen apart from me getting menopausal symptoms. My next injection is due on Monday..
Thankyou!

Hi Nflanagan1 I had the prostap injections about three years ago. I had really heavy, irregular, prolonged periods at the time. I experienced exactly the same as you have described. With me it continued for the whole 6 months I was having the injections there were only 4 days out of that time that I didn't loose any blood at all. When I went back to the hospital after I had finished the course my doctor told me that it was unusual that they hadn't stopped my periods completely.
Although I can't give you much advise as that was all I was told just thought I would let you know my experience even if it only lets you know your not alone. Really hope it settles down and that they work out for you.
Thankyou! It's good to know I'm not alone. I just feel like I have no control over my body and I've felt like that ever since I started having periods when I was 13. I'm just at my wits end and I just feel so low all the time! I hate that this pain and bleeding effects my everyday life and I'm running out of options thankyou for sharing!
Hi, I would ask about this when you go for your next injection, as it seems unusual. I am on my 2nd course of Prostap and apart from the initial flare-up (which is like a period) had no other bleeding. The injection is meant to stop your periods so the endo stops growing - if this isnt happening its fairly pointless having the injections!
