Constant pain.

Ever since my hysterectomy a year and a half ago I have had constant abdominal and back pain. I had a complete hysterectomy and my appendix removed due to endometriosis. I began to bleed two weeks after my first surgery. They went in and restitched my vaginal cuff. Two weeks after that I began to hemorrhage. They once again restitched the vaginal cuff. I have had pain ever since and have seen every doctor under the sun. They did do a lap laposcopric surgery to see what they could see about 6 months after my initial surgeries but did not find much. I mam meeting with another general surgeon tomorrow for possibly a fourth surgery. They tell me this or pain management is my only hope. I am 36 and would prefer not to be on pain pills for ever. Has anyone else had the same problems or gotten any answers?

Hi - so sorry That you are in pain and suffering I understand currently how you feel my situation is not the same but very similar to yourself. In October last year I had a TAH for other reasons and appendix removal, it wasn't planned and I was unaware I had endo until after my surgery. I hadn't suffered with any pain, nor taken any medication until surgery. Since my surgery where they found all my organs tied up in endo I've really suffered with, pain, UTI,thrush, etc. I'm now under an endo consultant who's found after an MRI I've still endo/adhensions in my whole pelvics my vault needs recutting, the list...... He has said there no Guarantee that surgery will resolve the issue, but hopes it will improve them. Adhesion can reform at any time, also endo could possibly return but not as likly since my hysterectomy. I'm 45years. I take HRT since day one, the benefits for myself outway...... I know I'm extremely anxious can it does cause me more pain And problems.

Have you tried pain management, it doesn't always involve medication? It has worked at times for me, but I get very frustrated as my body won't allow what my mind wants to do!

When you had your lap done did they just look or remove anything? Did it improve your symptons short term? As adhension can have reformed?

I wish you well, and hope that you get some answers tomorrow, just to put your mind at rest, I know kep seeing different consultants Can be daunting.

I have tried to find a pain management doctor, but none of them what to treat abdominal pain only back pain. I went and saw my lap band surgeon and he took the fill out in my lap band to make sure that was not the problem. I am still in excruciating pain. He is looking into some things to see what he thinks will be best for me, but at this point he is kind of my last hope.
