Has anyone who suffers with endo had the mirena coil on here, I have recently had a consultation with my doctor to see what treatment is best and the mirena coil seems a good option, what's everyone's opinions? Thanks

Hello - I had the merina coil and it didnt help me at all. This is just my experience and it may have worked for others.

I had mine fitted about 10 weeks ago. The doctors told me it is a very good idea and an effective treatment for endo. I noticed some change after about 5 weeks, my pain was less intense and I felt generally quite well compared to how I did before. Unfortunately I have got a lot worse again recently but that's because of nerve pain in my pelvis as well as suspected endo. Have you had a laporoscopy yet? X

I had the Mirena fitted last November to help reduce bleeding. For the first 5months I was on and off northisterone to give the coil a chance. Now, I'm norethisterone free and only have the coil in :) it has worked a treat with the bleeding and I would recommend it to anyone. It hasn't helped the pain at all but the fact I'm not bleeding continually for months on end is a god send.

I'd definitely try it, stick with it and you should reap the benefits

Hi I find the coil works at its best with a good surgeon & it being put straight in after surgery to give it the best chance to work. I had surgery Dec my insides were in a state to say the least .... they decided to fit a coil whilst I was under as they felt best treatment I had told them before this surgery to do what was necessary! What can I say I know some have had bad experience but you really do need to give it at least 6 months to settle. I am pain free and my god was I in pain with those organs attached periods are much lighter to my delight I'm not in a complete regular cycle with it yet but its either every 21 days to 30 days which for me being in awful pain 1 microgynon 30 and 4 norgeston a day with all the bowel medications and painkillers I am more than happy. I was told its the new hysterectomy .... so far so good its always worth a go its easily pulled out. Good luck x
