I haven't yet been diagnosed with endometriosis, but on Wednesday when I seen the doctor she has put on my note's that she is sure I have endo, and awaiting for my scan, and if nothing sgows or of ot does she is going to refer me to a gyne which is in may I know endo doesn't show but thinks I could have chocolate cyst as well as endometriosis bonded to part of my insides as after having my appendix out about two year ago the pain has been worse... She thinks that they could have left something inside when I had my appendix out too.. Im 19, amd have suffered pain since I first started my periods which was when I was 12 maybe younger, I had a pelvic check and she said im mucky down there what could that be?.. Thanks for anyone who replys and hope all is well.. Thank you again xx

Cysts will show on the scan. All types of cysts including chocolate cysts (endometriosis) on the ovaries. Scans will also show up some scarring. But the only definitive way to diagnose endometriosis is by having a laparoscopy.

Hi, sorry to hear you are in such pain. Endo will show on an ultra sound as well as cysts. That's how I was diagnosed with it again recently. X

I had my first lap 6 years ago after the mirena and anything else they chose to try me with! because they couldn't diagnose what was wrong with me, from that they discovered I had endo. I felt great for 4 years then pain, heavy cycles, back ache bladder issues all started again. I went for an ultra sound which confirmed 5cm cyst and endo. I tried zoladex but have real trouble with additional hormones in my body. I'm 35 and already had my two children so decided for full hysterectomy - this is not a choice for everybody! There are many reasons for the mucky stuff, one could possibly be that the cyst has dispersed itself. It's hard because we are all so different. Don't think I have been much help but I will say that endo can come back and that certain hormones feed it : (. X
