What to do next, options for Endo pain relief and conceiving.....

Hi Everyone,

I'm 32 and was diagnosed with severe endo in June 2013. I have have random stomach pain for over 10 years during and in between periods, but didn't even know about endo, so just took pain killers and got on with life.

In December 2012, I had severe stomach pain for days. I would sit and cry in agony for hours and hours, with this feeling of intense stabbing/contracting pain. So I went to the doctors and they sent me for ultrasounds, then I was sent for the laparoscopy and dye test. I was told then that I had severe endo and a 'faint trickle' of dye came through my tubes.

At my follow up appointment, the consultant gave me the options 1) To have an operation to remove the endo and cysts 2) Start IVF 3) Do neither and try to conceive naturally for 6 months.

Since the bout of intense pain I had in December had died down, I decided to go with option 3. I have had period pain every month, but it's been ok to deal with.......until the last 2 months, I have had the most intense pain lasting 2-3 days of lying in bed and nothing works to relieve it. I was prescribed Zapain, but this just makes me feel really ill and the pains is still there.

My check up appointment is in February and i'm really confused what to do. I can't deal with this pain, right now I feel like having a hysterectomy, but I want to have children.

The consultant told me if I have surgery to remove the cysts/endo it could lower my chances of getting pregnant, but I have also read that it can improve your chances, so i'm super confused.

As I haven't got pregnant naturally so far and I find the consultants/GPs really don't care. I just wondered if anyone is in this situation?

I don't know whether to have surgery and keep trying naturally or start IVF.

Whatever happens, I need something to stop this intense pain, I can't deal with it anymore.

Have surgery to remove endo as you are in severe pain and than do ivf and you never know. People have done it and got pregnet.

I was told that I would have a better chance of getting pregnant if I had my Lap (I dont want children just yet) but for the future my doctor told me that i would probably have to have another Lap to clear out the endo and that I should be able to try after that? Sorry that may not help too much but thats what I have been told by my doctors... good luck and keep us posted! xx
