Bleeding on Mirena Coil..

Hey ladies!

I had my Mirena Coil fitted on 15th October and experience a period type bleeding for a week or two after, but as I had it fitted during my laparoscopy I couldn't tell if it was just post-surgery bleeding or a period. Since then I haven't had any bleeding or spotting, but I have had stomach cramps etc.

Just popped to the toilet to find that I seem to be bleeding and the blood is browny/black (sorry if TMI) which I've never had before. Is this just normal spotting/breakthrough bleeding or should I be concerned?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but my GP hasn't been very helpful with providing me with information

Brown/black blood is old blood and nothing to worry about. In fact, it's a sign that the Mirena is doing its job by having a good old clean out

It should pass in a few days
