It looks really good , it claims to actually cure and erradicate the Endo and I wonder if any of you ladies had success with it.

I have not read of Violet Protocol so cannot comment on it (I will have a look). However, from extensive reading of research over the years and talking to an expert endo consultant, I understand that nothing 'cures' endo except having all endo surgically removed by a specialist endo consultant (not just random patches either but the whole lot leaving nothing at all behind to continue).

Various things can help reduce the effects of endo such as diet and cutting out xenoestrogens (chemicals in toiletries, cosmetics, household cleaning products etc) that mimic the effects of estrogen in the body and thus can lead to the effects of estrogen dominance (which incidentally is thought to also contribute to many other conditions such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, PMS, hormonal migraines, miscarriage due to low progesterone compared to estrogen during pregnancy, increased menopausal symptoms such as flushes and aching joints, cervical erosion, pituitary tumours and female cancers - oh and increase in male infertility). Nice eh! Estrogen dominance does not necessarily mean high levels but is an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone so this can be the case even in menopause where levels of both have dropped right off!

I have personally cut out all toiletries, cosmetics, cleaning stuff which contains parabens, pthalates and sulfates (amongst other stuff) and, as we also get xenoestrogens from Bisohenol A in plastics (particularly when heated), I no longer heat food up in plastic or drink from plastic but use good old glass. Sounds difficult to do but over time, it is easy to replace these things as there is a good array of products on offer now. Takes a bit of research and trial and error to find the products that you like, just like you would with chemical stuff.

As I understand it, the reason the endo diet helps is because it cuts out toxins that your liver has to process (such as alcohol / caffeine etc). Excess estrogen is eliminated via the liver. By cutting out as many toxins as possible, this gives the liver a greater capacity to eliminate excess estrogen and to do its job. Where it is over worked, excess estrogen is more likely to be stored by the body in fat cells. The thing about xenoestrogens is that they are generally absorbed through the skin and so completely bypass the liver!

The leading endo consultants now think that endo was something laid down during the gestation period and it is the onset of hormones at puberty that kick it off (there are other theories but the occurrence of endo via these is thought to be much less common than the former). Therefore, once totally removed, not likely to recurr. Dr David Redwine says that the reason why there is a general belief that endo cannot be cured is simply because most surgeons are not skilled enough in endo surgery/do not remove it all and so what is left behind has the potential to cause more problems and future surgeries. Where it is all removed this does not happen. Sadly I think there are only about 3 or 4 endo consultants surgeons worldwide who perform surgery to remove all endo (1 in the UK). The rest remove patches/as much as their skill level will allow them to - but this does help relieve symptoms but with a higher possibility of future surgeries.

However, many gynae consultants (who are not necessarily endo experts) still try to treat endo by drugs which only temporarily supress it (and cause hormonal havoc in the meantime by inducing chemical menopause), or the birth control pill which is opposite to menopause and mimics pregnancy (great relief from painful periods), or recommend a hysterectomy and removal of ovaries, (which will not sort widespread endo, only deal with adenomyosis) and removal of ovaries which your body does need and which the experts do not recommend removal of for the sole purposes of endo/reducing estrogen, only if they are not working due to nothing much being left after surgery, extreme pain that cannot be helped by surgical removal of cysts/endometriomas or indications of something like cancer. Why not try and cut down on estrogen effects by cutting out xenoestrogens and keep the ovaries to do their job.

Other books I can recommend are as follows:

Stop Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain by Dr Andrew S Cook (top USA Endo Surgeon Consultant)

100 Questions and Answers about Endometriosis by by Dr David Redwine (retired top US Endo Surgeon Consultant (acknowledged as world leader in the field)

Estrogen Dominance by Dr Michael Lam

I will also have a look into the Violet Protocol to see what that is suggesting.

Kind regards and thanks x

I agree with the points made above. Also I looked at the website for this a few months ago and was really not keen on the way the whole thing was being marketed. It was like one great long infomercial which never quite explained what the 'cure' is. I decided not to pursue.

To my mind anyone who claims to have a 'cure' should be ignored completely, certainly not encouraged or promoted and certainly not invested in..

It is illegal in the UK to make claims of a medical cure when you cannot prove it with scientific proof to back up the claims. Not the case when advertising abroad.

In the case of endo- if anyone had found a cure and was selfish enough to make people pay for that advice rather than sharing it freely on the web- should be hung drawn and quartered.

And what on earth does "Socially proven in 24 countries" mean?

...Sorry but I really could not recommend anyone waste their money on something like this.

No doubt adopting a healthier lifestyle and cutting out certain irritating foods will make anyone feel better - but you don't need to pay for that advice- we give it freely on this forum. The endo diet has helped a lot of ladies feel better able to cope, but it isn't a cure, it's a help...and it information about it is free on the web. There are receipe idea books which you can buy, but the info as stevieflp says- is already available to any ladies wanting to look it up.

It's your money- and I know when in pain and desperately clutching at straws for a solution you're are likely to be more vulnerable to fanciful claims... but that is what is so

wicked about these charlatans. They are preying on and profitting from your desperation by making claims that cannot be verified one bit.
