I seem to have loss of 'normal' feeling near an incision after laparoscopy? It feels quite strange over about a 1/4 of belly Any had this?

Nerve damage after op..
lots or LOST? You should have lost feeling at the incision sites. That is normal.
I had a laparotomy big hole gash across the bikini line- expected it to be raging sore, but it was quite numb and still is quite numb 2 and half years later.
My belly button lap hole from a previous op is numb below my belly button. The lesser lap holes I don't think are any different from what they were before.
In answer to your question - yes numbness is normal and the nerves are cut..
You might get some feeling back as time goes by - but maybe not.
I cut my thumb several years ago with a craft knife (accidentally) and severed the nerves. It's been numb ever since. It is a strange sensation either side of numb patches.
Thanks for reply, sorry I thought I edited post.. Loss of feeling..
I've had a laparoscopy before and not had this.. I'd say a good 1/4 of my tummy is numbish, I can feel still but it feels very strange.. I had two Incisions last time and both not had this, 3 this time and it's only near to one it's done this.. X
Snap Impatiant! I sliced my thumb open with a chisel and have no feeling in the end that was about 4 years ago.
I also have no feeling between my belly button cut and bikini line but its not as extreme as my thumb its numb with out the tingly feeling. I have been told to use Hypericum oil over the cut sites only once they are fully healed. Im waiting for the ok off my doctor as it is made from st johns wort and im on the pill. X
Iv lost feeling too Hun, iv had three incisions and the one on my left side but quite a distance below the incision. And i only have feeling in half on my bikini area. I showed the gynea on Thursday and she said it is strange how far away from the incision that the numb feeling starts.
