Hi I was diagnosed a month ago after my lap but don't know where or how much I had. I have been having abit of fresh blood after every bowel movement for the last 6 years. Post lap all pain has gone with any bowel movement but Im still bleeding everytime :-(

Oh god, have you seen a colorectal surgeon too?

Did you not have a colonoscopy to investigate or treatment?

Have you any piles? That can cause bleeding.

Thanks Sallysch, there isn't anything noticable but I'm going to get some cream to see if that helps. X

Endo in the bowel bleeds with the cycle of periods just the same as endo elsewhere. and it doesn't just happen with a loo trip, it will drip out anyway, so that's quite an easy way to spot the difference between endo in the lining of the bowel and piles or anal fissures which can also cause rectal bleeding. If it is with every trip to the loo, that does tend to point towards piles.... but it should be checked out with the GP just incase it is a sign of cancer in the colon or bowel...or perhaps polyps which might need removing.

If it is piles then take laxatives to losen the flow, and not put quite so much strain on the thin membrains as the poop passes by.

Endo pushing in from outside the bowel, causes obstruction dents in the pipe work and that can make passing a poop very painful and causes constipation back up too. Sometimes and endometrioma cyst can cause this but also just a large collection of endo old blood stuck in the pouch of douglas (POD).

It is certainly something to be checked out if it is happening out side of your period bleeds when endo is active.

Thanks mine isn't on every movement and I do have blood and adhesions in the pouch of Douglas as well as pain on a movement but it is not rectal pain. It is severe pelvic pain as the movement starts to move down the rectum so severe that I nearly pass out,

Hi! I have the same problem. Bleeding with bowel movement mainly during my period but on a few occasions it has also happened outside my cycle. I've had 2 colonoscopies but they were clear. I can totally understand what you are going through. I'm just sorry that I don't have a solution for us x

Thanks Lynn! reassuring that I am not the only one. I feel like a hypochondriac at times with the doctors!
