I had major surgery 5 yrs ago and have been on the pill ever since which has maintained a pain free life for me . I did have a brief break to have successful ivf treatment.
I have now had to stop the combined pill due to migraine . The mini pill causes extreme mood swings to the point I actually left my dh while on it !! I was in such a state .
Now I don't know what to try? Consultant refuses zoladex and suggests we just monitor it! As I narrowly missed getting a colostomy in my last op this us not something I am happy about.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm d same mini pill makes me depressed combined pill gives me migraine. I use nuva ring. It's still combined but cos d blood levels are soo low i don't get migraine wit it.
It's no 1 contraceptive in Europe, slow to take off in England because of the price but I swear by it. Kept me pain free for 4 years.
Is it worth trying a different type of the mini pill? Not all of them may cause the same side effects as the first one where it led you to leaving your dh. As a fellow migraine sufferer I could only use progestogen only pills and tried a few different ones such as Femodene, Femulen, Micronor and Cerazette.
For what its worth some types suited me better than others although it turned out I did have endometriosis and I then had different types of treatment.
Has your consultant said why he/she is not considering zoladex for you? I was reluctant to try it and other GNRH's but after surgery and the Mirena coil failed I began having Prostap injections and have never looked back. I actually feel human again!
As you were so close to needing a colostomy during your last surgery I can see why another operation isn't possible. Hopefully your gynae can reconsider you for zoladex at your next appointment.
