Hi, I have been on prostap a few times and i now have really bad joint pain. It's in my wrist, elbow, shoulder and hip on right side that I sleep on. Also, have hip pain in both hips, knee pain, ankle pain and horrible pains in my feet if I walk around. I am stiff in the morning when I wake then it goes off unless I walk a lot or stand a lot. I can't walk far now or stand for long, this is as well as all the endo stuff and chronic nerve pain.
I am hoping it is side effects from the prostap but the consultant said I may need a blood test for arthritis. Has anyone else had similar things happening? It has been like it for ages but its getting worse now and I can't ignore it any more.
Thanks.

Obviously I can't diagnose you, but I can confirm that GnRH drugs like prostap can indeed give you very painful bones and veins and so on. It's a weird pain feeling. I had it a lot when on zoladex, very very uncomfy pain.
Some of that can be due to a raise in blood pressure as your heart rate goes up on the drugs, but it wouldn't account for all the pains that these drugs give you.
The only way to be sure is when you stop the course of drugs, if the leg pains ease off, then you know for sure it was the prostap and nothing else like arthritis etc.
I did find taking pain killers essential when these pains came on...and bed rest.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I asked my GP yesterday if the joint pain was due to prostap or possible arthritis and he said he didnt know. He said that I need the injections for now so I will have to put up with it until I have the hysterectomy. I am currently in bed (again) with a 6 year old on holiday and unable to do anything. I did have acupuncture a few weeks ago and think that may also have affected things. I am so sick of always having something wrong with me!!!
Once you are off the drugs and have had your op, if you still find you have arthritis type pain, ask your gp about coeliac disease (gluten in food ). It's an autoimmune disease and can be associated with endo. You can get the pain as a symptom, as well as tummy problems.
Thanks for the reply. I was checked for coeliac ages ago when all of my problems started so hopefully I can rule this one out, thanks for the thought though.
