My consultant told me this wasn't a symptom of endometriosis. Bit confused as I have heard that it is!

Pain when having an internal examination?
well I think you're consultant is wrong!!When I had an internal it was really really painful!!!
I always found these painful and my consultant thought it was all part of endo I think ur consultant is wrong to
The fact that my consultant could not touch me was his first reason to have a lap. He said that was not right and needed to be looked at right away. I don't know if it is considered a symptom.... BUT it can be a sign that something is wrong. xxxx
I don't think it's a 'recognised' symptom on its own, as there are so many other things that could be causing the pain....but on the other hand, endometriosis shouldn't be ruled out.
That's not really very helpful, is it? What I mean is that painful examinations don't automatically mean you have endo
Hope this helps somehow! x
I think your consultant is wrong. Just like Kaye because of the pain when having an examination the doctor decided for an ultrasound and eventual laporoscopy. Sadly, Currently, I don't think, there is nothing doctors could do about the pain....
Thanks for all your replies. He has booked me in for a laparoscopy and said all the other symptoms sound like endo so it's just wait and see now! x
When I had my first examination I was told it shouldn't hurt at all then a few months later I had another one and the doctor said that it is main symptom but doesn't mean on its own that you have endo. Hope things get better for you xx
