hi there im new,

i have suffered from endometriosis since i was 11 yrs old and im now 21. I have tried almost everything they have offered and had countless surgeries.

I was very fortunate and gave birth to a baby boy in 2010 but since then i have become even worse. i dont no if this is due to hemoraging when i had him or just coz i am getting older or what?? i was also diagnosed with grade 3 pre-cancer cells of the cervix last year and i am not sure if that could be related to my endometriosis or if it is totally seperate?

My body rejected the pill after i had him and i did not stop bleeding everyday for 6 months. they then gave me the mirena coil but that started to fail as my body cant seem to fight off the endometirosis.

They recently gave me an injection to bring on the menopause, called prostap and HRT tablets called tibolone. But since being on these it has made me extremely moody and i keep snapping at everyone. i am also worried that the treatment will not be reversed once i decide to try for another baby, but i feel i have no choice as they have told me all they can give me to stop the pain next is a hystorectomy, but there would be no guarantees it will make me pain free.

It also seems to come back more aggressive after each surgery i have and the cyst on my ovaries seem to be multiplying at a rapid rate as i was recently told i had a 5cm cyst on my right ovary, yet went back 4 weeks later and had 2x 5cm cysts on my right and 2x 3cm cysts on the left as well.

I feel like i am at my witts end with all of it and just dont no what to do. i t affects me every day and i feel like it is affecting my abilities as a mum and within my relationship.

I would be grateful if anyone could offer any advice or suggestions please.

Thank you xxx

Thats so hard, I am so sorry its so severe for you. Also congratulations on having a baby! I would make one suggestion which would be to try mindfulness meditation as many people with long term pain find it useful for helping to manage pain and to help deal with the anxiety and stress that the pain causes.

I am in early days with the whole endometriosis treatment options and you probably know more than me about medical treatments so I will leave mysuggestions at that x

Hi, Big congrats on having your son. The menopasue drugs will wear off after you stop taking them I have had them 3 times, each time it took a few months before I got my period back but they were no worse or better than before.

Sorry to hear you have been suffering since you were 11, that'svery young to have to deal with it. I started suffering at 17 (I am 30 now) and have had a lot of surgery. It sounds simillar to you in that it comes back very quickly and severely each time.

Unfortuanately I have no advise to offer you, just understanding. I know what it's like to be snappy with people because of the pain and the menopause drugs made me very moody. I couldn't sleep and had really bad hot flushes too. I am lucky as I have a very (usualy) understanding boyfriend who lets me have a go at him and then apologise later. I haven't found anything as yet that helps with it except other peoples understanding, let me know if you do as I would love to know :) I hope it settles down for you soon.

xx

thank you guys for answering :-) Its nice to no i am not the only one who has been thorugh this type of experience.

i will certainly try the meditation as my mum has also suggested that to me and i will defo let you no if they come up with anything new that actually works lol.

I am really lucky to have great friends, family and partner who supports me but i just find it hard to talk about sometimes as no one can fully understand the feeling you get from being this way, although they try there best.

Anyway thank you again guys and take care

xx
