I have stage 4 endo, diagnosed after 20 years. Since then I've had 4 surgeries, the most recent one being a bowel resection and an ileostomy in December which has since been reversed. Each time I have surgery I'm given a Zoladex shot for 6 months with HRT. With no period and no excruciating and debilitating pain, my life is wonderfully different with zoladex. I would happily continue with Zoladex as I'm prepared to do just about anything to make the pain go away. I would like to know if anyone has been on Zoladex for more than 6 months and what the possible down side is. Any advice is welcome. I'm 35 years.

I was on zoladex first for six months and then again for two and half years. I came off it by choice but my consultant was happy for me to stay on it for as long as I wanted provided I was taking HRT. My periods returned about six months later (the longer the better!). No issues at all for me being on it for so long. i would have been about 37/38 then. Unfortunately about two years after coming off it I was back in for another lap so I probably should have just stayed on it. take care. x
Thanks Jules, I'm very excited to know that I can continue with Zoladex. I will definitely suggest it to my Gynae when I see her in 2 weeks. Will let you know how it goes. Have a lovely weekend
