Reiters syndrome 3 years ago still achy and fluey every day

Hi, I had reiters syndrome about 3 years ago, I was given naproxen and a tablet to take prior to protect my stomach. Since then if I consumed alcohol I became ‘drunk’ like almost immediately, one thought was the lining had been damaged and alcohol was going direct into my bloodstream? However I still now suffer from bad flu symptoms daily which wakes me at 5 am with achy fatigue feelings which subside as the day goes on the appear again early evening. I’ve had about 20 blood tests which never show anything particularly concerning. I am a 50 year old white male not overweight etc.

I am now married with children but 5 years ago was still single so played the field and partied fairly hard, I have had all std checks but read that certain conditions can remain in the body and be difficult to detect? Could there be something still affecting me? When I drink I sometimes get the symptoms worse a few days later but I don’t think alcohol is the direct cause here, many times I have stopped drinking for months and the condition/symptoms doesn’t vary. I’m not coeliac but probably have ibs too. Thanks

This sounds like mass cell activation syndrome which is associated with EDS. Mass cell activation syndrome causes an over the top reaction to what we surmise is essentially nothing. It is seen in blood tests if your doctors know what to look for. Creatinine CK Kinease is usually elevated and basoeosinophils are generally lower than baseline. I hope this helps.
