Was diagnosed with igan in 2019 and having issues with severe joint pain in feet and fingers .
Had bloods done and was informed by GP that I have rheumatoid arthritis and was sent for X-rays etc but have now been discharged by the RA department and passed back to the GP so awaiting the next step !
So has anyone got gout like this ? When I wake in the morning My right hand is actually locked closed and I can only open it with my other hand ! Particularly my middle finger will click/lock constantly, both heels are constantly sore throughout the day !
Anyway I’ve rambled on and apologies for my grammar!
Just about got my head around the Igan and now this !
Bum

I do not have IGAN , and am CKD 3b. I do have hyperuricemia and prescribed a gout medicine. Seems to be have brought down my blood level of hyperuricemia.
HI Yourkidenme, Love your name.... I have Psoriatic Arthritis, a form of rheumatoid but it presents differently. I too have high uric acid. They did not recognize the fact that this was an issue for years. Meanwhile, I passed over 30 kidney stones, some quite large. The stones were all uric acid based. And as you can imagine, they did havoc on my kidneys. I was finally put on alopurinol, which helped. I stopped passing stones and the ones that were still in my kidney dissolved. Then just three years ago, sodium citrate was added twice a day. That really brought my blood levels down to a more alkaline level and made me much more comfortable. Be aware that certain foods and beverages can add to the issue. You need to be aware of purines.
