I have a gfr of 48 and 2-3 weeks ago it was 47 and I am 65 years old. All other blood tests came back satisfactory. Should I be worried?

Possible ckd?
Hi Nannypool,
Welcome to our community! Here you will find wonderful support from compassionate, knowledgeable people.
At this point, I would print out a copy of your labs and check off any results which may flag high or low next to the lab criteria. I also would note your 2 prior sets of lab results next to your present results as to present a running line.
Give the ordering doctor a call and discuss your results with him/ her and ask what can be done to improve them.
Every person is different with different medical issues and medications, so it is best to ask your first line of communication about this; your doctor. That's what they are paid for.
Please reach out and let us know what the outcome is.
Think positive!

No need to worry, it never helps. Instead, learn as much as you can and follow what your doctor advises. At age 65 our bodies are starting to decline anyway, so it could be normal aging of the kidneys, and that will be your baseline. The key is to maintain your baseline and not have it decline further. What has your doctor told you?
