Does drinking a quart of unsweetened ice tea affect kidney function or kidney deterioration? I drink both caffeine free and caffeine ice tea.

Hi Folks, and any members of this supportive community,

Is there any member like Sagamore who has caffeine free drinks please and can help with this query?

HI Sagamore,

Too much of anything can be an issue. Depending on what type of tea you use, there can be an issue with oxalic acid building up. Here is a link to explain: healthcare.utah.edu/healthf...

Black tea has about 88 mg of potassium in 8 ounces. You do the math and it does add up. And we all know that caffeine increases blood pressure so be careful with that also.
