hi beautiful people i am 32 years old male. I went to my dentist Iin 2017 Aug, for some reason he had prescribed me some general test in which kft was included and my creatinine was 1.33 which is not normal according to the reports so he asked me to meet my family physician and some good nephrologist. I took an appointment with my physician he checked again with the same blood test and creatinine was 1.9 then he sent me to nephrologist, after meeting nephrologist he had prescribed me some medicines and after just few days my creatinine gone up to 2.11 so i left his treatment in between, then someone told me about ayurvedic medicines and started taking them from that date to till i have never seen my creatinine goes beyond 1.27. Let me tell you my medical history

In 2013 i was suffering from a clot in brain i was young and didn't care about the lifestyle at that time so my neurologist prescribed me some pain killers and blood thinners and after 2 months i stopped taking these medicines but whenever i feel pain i used to take pain killers. I took these pain killers for a long time like twice a week without knowing any future problems. I am a blood pressure patient but now a days its under control and i am not diabetic.

The problem is right now my egfr is 68 and creatinine is 1.24 i am attaching my reports with this post i really think you guys can help me better.

My creatinine goes up and down and sometimes it goes down to normal and my egfr fluctuate every month sometimes it goes up and some time it goes down but right now its 68. Please check my reports and help me. Thanks a very big thank to everyone ❤ stay blessed and healthy.

I am unable to attach the reports i dont know why so i am writing here.

Creatinine normal range is 0.67 to 1.17 as per my lab

17 July 2018. It was 1.06 and gfr 81

11 sep 2018. It was 1.00 and gfr 87

20 Oct 2018. It was 1.20 and gfr 71

15 Nov 2018. It was 1.21 and gfr 70

13 dec 2018. It was 1.17 and gfr 73

7 Feb 2019. It was 1.12. And gfr 76

16 may 2019. It was 1.24 and gfr 68

Please help and please tell me what to do and how to survive this situation for a long time. Thank you so much.

Hi Shezy,

GFR and creatinine will fluctuate according to how hydrated you are, what you ate last, and other factors. If you haven't already, stop taking any NSAIDs and you stopped the pain meds. Keep your self hydrated and check with the doctor about your labs. At this point, you are at stage 2. Here is a link to find out more about CKD and what you can do at this point. kidneyfund.org/kidney-disea...

Hi Shezy 1987

Welcome to our community. Although you will find folks here are very willing to share from their knowledge and experience, I must point out that this is a peer support forum and the advice though well-meaning is no substitute for professional medical advice and may be conflicting, as we are not physicians, we do not know your medical history and what may work for one person may not work for another. As a healthcare professional, I am concerned that you seem to have ignored your doctors' advice, and stopped taking medication which began to improve your kidney health.

Bassetmommer is correct in saying that our creatinine and GFR fluctuate due to many factors including hydration, muscle mass, age, sex etc. Creatinine is the waste product of muscles. Here is a reliable source of information about blood tests in CKD that will explain it much more:

Edinburgh Renal Unit - Blood test in CKD:

edren.org/ren/edren-info/bl...

I must caution you too about the use of herbal supplements in CKD which are considered unsafe to use. Here is an extract from the Kidney Research UK website about 'Medicines to avoid in CKD' including herbal remedies: kidneyresearchuk.org/health...?

'Homeopathic medicines are safe in renal impairment but herbal and ayurvedic medicine should be avoided. A number of herbal remedies can increase blood pressure and so are unsuitable for use in people with renal disease. Herbal remedies can interact with conventional medicines, for example, St. Johns Wort with cyclosporin (Neoral ®). Herbal remedies vary in the amount of active constituent they contain and the effect may differ a great deal from one batch to another. Until more is known about the effects of herbal medicines in kidney disease they cannot be recommended.'

Please stay safe. If you have any specific questions like this, do go back to your nephrologist as he/she are best placed to answer your queries.

Best wishes,

MAS Nurse and Moderator

I would highly recommend that you get your Cystatin C tested for verification and prognosis. And the poster above is correct that a urinalysis report will tell you one of the most important information about whether or not you are leaking protein into your urine.

If you aren't, you can relax a bit. If your Cystatin C is on the lower end of the reference range, you can relax even more.

Well I don’t if you will find this useful but I tell you my experience this what they call CKD chronic kindness discease.

One day, quite out of the blue, a doctor contacted me at home around 7pm !! to tell me that I had CKD. My first question was ‘am I going to die’. After a very distressing evening I eventually saw a senior doctor and then privately a nephrologist, who told me that aggravated of 60 was quite normal for a fit and healthy woman of my age (63).

Although I later questioned a GP who confirmed gfr can fluctuate.

The put the reason for my gfr going down to 50 (which is CKD 3)

down to taking too much Ibrofumen tablets.

Your gfr is still very high and that s a normal heathy person although I see it is decreasing. Try and see a nephrologist. You may have to go privately as NHS would necessarily refer you. Hope this helps. Bye the way I’m fit and health living in Spain 10 months of the year and have absolutely no problems. Good luck.
