I have ckd stage 3 and last night kept waking up with these horrible Charlie horses in my legs that made it impossible to sleep or stand so I just sat and cried... so I guess my question is, are these normal and what can I do if anything? Thanks

Legs
I am at level 3 also and have this at times. After electro test was diagnosed as sensory peripheral neuropathy idiopathic. Have read that could be from CKD but maybe best to see your Doctor and maybe tested and see what treatments are available for you. Everyone is different, what works for me might not work for you.
Leg cramps are due to low magnesium & potassium. I had severe leg cramps
for a long time. I hated to go to bed.
After taking prescription potassium 500 mg & magnesium, calcium supplements
they stopped for months.
I stopped potassium, started getting cramps again. So taking it daily with other 2
supplements. I know potassium is bad for the kidneys (my reading is 51) but it's
one or the other. I just have to test my potassium again, to make sure I'm not getting
too much. Praying for everyone.
I get those horrible leg cramps as well. I did read on google about putting you thumb inside your top lip and index finger under your nose and squeezing the lip for 2 or 3 minutes. Guess what it works for me. They do subside. No clue why. Good luck.
